Cairo

Modern Cairo can be easily called the “city of contrasts.” The past, present, and future are closely intertwined here. The city is often compared with an oriental rug, where incompatible things are combined. It is noisy here, as cars are considered an integral part of Cairo. At the same time, this city is considered the “city of 1000 minarets”, the oldest of which was built before its formation. For instance, the Ibn Tulun Mosque is one of its main examples. In turn, pyramids are the most famous attractions that are associated with Egypt all over the world. These unique buildings are living proof of the “Seven Wonders of the World,” which can still be found in reality. In the vicinity of Cairo, in Giza, there are the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, Mykerin, and Sphinx. Cairo can be compared with a jewelry box that needs to be opened, as it is going to shine tremendously bright!

Aswan

The city of Aswan is located in a picturesque place on the Nile River in Egypt. In ancient times, it marked the border with Nubia. And now, a significant part of its population are Nubians. Aswan is a beautiful winter resort. At this time of year, day temperature here is about + 25 °С, and the abundance of sights will not let you get bored. You can hire a felucca with a crew — a small vessel with a triangular sail — and go on a trip to see them. On the way, tourists will see Elephantine Island and the ancient temples on it, the Botanical Garden, and the tombs of the nobility. And you get to the ruins of Monastery of Saint Simeon by camel, and from there, you head to the Nubian village in the desert. A visit to the Nubian Museum and a stroll along the Corniche Waterfront will be no less impressive. Make sure you plan a trip to the Aswan Dam, which is outside the city. This huge structure is considered one of the largest artificial lakes in the world.
